Mike Newman | Chief Executive Officer
A love for flying has brought Mike to the helm of Ardmore Flying School. Mike is passionate about training tomorrow’s pilots and what better way to do it that with one of New Zealand’s largest flying schools. When he’s not making important strategic decisions to keep Ardmore Flying School as an industry leader, he’s off flying himself. Mike’s passion for producing tomorrow’s pilots keeps Ardmore Flying School’s commitment to producing high quality graduates in a fun and stimulating environment.
Warren Sattler | Chief Flying Instructor
With more than 30,000 hours of flight instruction experience, Warren is a leader in the flight instruction industry. As an A Cat Instructor, his passion for flight instruction is legendary and benefits all Ardmore Flying School’s students. Combined with the commitment and dedication Warren gives to the school, Ardmore Flying School provides professional delivery of quality training.
Ian Calvert | Business Development Manager
Ian is the Business Development Manager at AFS with a focus on developing and growing our international pilot and engineer training activity as well as ensuring we attract sufficient high quality local students. Ian is an ‘A’ Cat Instructor and GA Examiner with 23 years flying experience. He initially trained up to his PPL here at Ardmore. Ian has held CFI positions as well as senior management positions, the most recent being as CEO of CTC Aviation. He also has his own business consulting company and has extensive experience in international markets having visited and worked with many international airlines and Regulators.
Omais Farooqui | Deputy CFI / Manager - Training & Standards
Omais holds a Commercial Pilot License and a B-Cat Instructor Rating with over 2500 flying hours. This busy instructor loves the culture and the friendly atmosphere at Ardmore Flying School which makes his job as the Deputy CFI easy when teaching students and mentoring younger instructors. When he’s not busy organizing everyone else, he loves to travel and expand his mind by reading. But when he’s on the job, his organization skills ensure the smooth running of the courses for the students to get them flying sooner.
Duncan Sharp |Deputy CFI / Head of IFR Programme
Duncan has more than 30 years flying experience in the Aviation Industry where he has worked in both flight training and air transport operations. This included GA charter, Southern Alps scenic flights as well as Airline passenger and airfreight operations using multi-engine piston and turboprop aircraft. Duncan holds a B-CAT and D-CAT instructor rating including multi engine approval and his experience has now brought him to Ardmore Flying School as Deputy CFI responsible for the IFR training. He has also had extensive involvement in senior management roles in the tertiary education sector and contributes to the continuing improvement of the Ardmore Flying School NZQA diploma programmes.
Kim Jenkins | Finance
Kim has had experience in all types of Industry, from large corporate to small businesses. She has been apart of the Ardmore Flying School Team since 2013. Kim will happily assist with any finance queries you may have.
Raymond Lin | Regional Manager - Asia
As our China Representative, Raymond has extensive experience in the New Zealand education field for the past 10 years. With specialized knowledge in the China Market, Raymond has been able to provide overseas students with the support and guidance that they need to settle into their courses in New Zealand. Not only has Raymond helped with his students transition into school life, but he has also enabled his clients to develop future connections and prepare them for opportunities in their chosen field of career.
Pervez Suntoke | Regional Manager - India and Gulf Region
Pervez has detailed knowledge of the Indian aviation sector and has recruited number of students for pilot training in New Zealand from India and U.A.E. Being born and brought up in India and now settled in New Zealand since 2001, Pervez offers a unique mix of knowledge and understanding of both markets. He is able to advise, guide and assist students not only with enrolment, admission and visa requirements but on various aspects of life in New Zealand. Pervez is a Licensed Immigration Adviser for New Zealand and has a successful record of securing visas for the students and their family, as required.
